EVERYONE RISES
The Melbourne Star is for everyone, and we want your visit to be easy from the car park to the cabin. Rather than tell you whether we’ll suit you, this page sets out exactly what we offer, so you can decide what works for you. If anything here isn’t clear, talk to us before you come and we’ll help you plan the day.
Accessibility
Carers and Companion Card
One carer per guest rides free. Just let our team know when you book or arrive. • One carer per guest rides free
Accessible toilets
Accessible toilets are available onsite at The Melbourne Star and also at The District Docklands, next door.
Sensory and neurodiversity
The ride itself is calm: a slow, steady rotation in a quiet, enclosed cabin, well away from the crowd. The busiest, loudest part is usually the queue and boarding area at peak times. We do have a low-sensory session on Wednesday from 10am til 11am weekly. • If sound is a challenge, we suggest bringing headphones or ear plugs for the busier ground-level areas • Each cabin has an audio experience you can enjoy or we can turn this off during off-peak times.
Assistance animals
Assistance dogs are welcome, in line with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Please let us know when you book so we can make sure your cabin is ready.
Families with young children
• Pram parking is available at the giftshop • Baby change facilities: on site or at The District Docklands.
Vision and hearing
Each cabin includes an audio experience, which can help guests who are blind or have low vision get the most from the view. Our website is built to work with screen readers. The audio experience is accompanied with a video experience with hard coded subtitles for guest with hearing disabilities.
Reduced Mobility
Boarding is level and step-free, straight from the platform into the cabin. Wheelchairs and mobility aids come aboard with you, and our team can slow or pause the wheel so you can board at your own pace. • Level, step-free boarding • Wheelchair accessible cabins • Fully enclosed, climate controlled, with seating and room to move • One gentle rotation, about thirty minutes, and the wheel can pause if you need it to
