Tickets, Pricing and General Info
How much are tickets?
Adults start from $29 online for a Classic Spin. Experiences and packages are priced separately, see Tickets & Experiences for the full list. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
How do Classic Spin time slots work?
Your Classic Spin ticket is valid for a two-hour window, so you can arrive any time within it, join the line, and we'll scan your ticket before you board. Online, slots open every two hours. If we close before your window ends, your ticket is valid until our last spin that day, so check the opening hours and last spin times for your date.
Is it cheaper to book online?
Yes. Online is our best available price and locks in your 30-minute window. Walk-up tickets are around 20% more.
Can I buy tickets on the day?
Walk-up is welcome, but online is cheaper and guarantees your spot, so we recommend booking ahead.
Do prices change on weekends and holidays?
Peak pricing applies on weekends, school and public holidays and some event nights.
Do you offer concession tickets?
Yes, with a valid concession card shown when you collect or scan your ticket.
Is there an age, height or weight limit?
There are no height restrictions. Children must be supervised (see Can children ride, below). Cabins have a maximum weight, which our team manages on the day, so a larger group may be split across cabins to stay within safe loading limits.
Can children ride?
Yes. Under-11s must ride with their own responsible adult in the same cabin, and under-16s must ride with an accompanying adult. After 9pm, everyone under 18 needs a responsible adult with them on site (a liquor licence condition).
Bookings, changes & contact
Can I change or refund my booking?
Standard tickets are non-refundable, but you can change the date or time for free, as many times as you like, up until your session starts and subject to availability. The new session needs to be within three months. Change it yourself via the link in your confirmation email, or contact us. Catering packages (Romance, Picnic) can be changed up to 72 hours before.
I booked through Klook, Viator or a travel agent.
Those bookings are managed by the provider you booked with, so changes and refunds go through them, not us.
What if I'm running late?
Booked a Classic Spin? We'll do our best to board you on the next available rotation with space. For any other booking, including Star Class, packages and private cabins, we'll help on a case-by-case basis depending on availability.
How do I contact you?
Email info@melbournestar.com.au or call us on 0415 218 039. If the team isn't available straight away, leave your details and we'll get back to you.
Accessibility
Is the Melbourne Star accessible?
Yes. Cabins are step-free and wheelchair accessible with level boarding, fully enclosed and climate controlled, and one carer per guest rides free.
Does the wheel stop for boarding?
The wheel turns slowly and continuously while you board, so most guests step straight into a moving cabin. If you use a wheelchair or need it to stop, just let our team know and we'll slow or pause it so you can board at your own pace.
Is there accessible parking and toilets?
Accessible parking is available in both District Docklands car parks, with lifts and step-free pathways to the Star. Accessible toilets are located throughout The District Docklands and one inside the Melbourne Star at the end of the Aero Bridge.
Can I bring an assistance animal?
Yes. Assistance dogs are welcome, in line with the Disability Discrimination Act. Other animals aren't permitted.
Does my wheelchair come on board?
Yes, wheelchairs and mobility aids come aboard with you.
Do carers get a free ticket?
Yes, one carer per guest rides free. Let us know when you book or arrive.

Planning your visit
What are your opening hours?
Monday and Tuesday, 12pm to 9:30pm (last spin at 9pm), Wednesday and Thursday, 10am to 9:30pm (last spin at 9pm), Friday and Saturday, 10am to 10:30pm (last spin at 10pm), and Sunday, 10am to 9:30pm (last spin at 9pm). Hours can change on public holidays and event nights, so check before you come.
How long does it take?

For Classic Spin, arrive any time within your two-hour window. For timed experiences (Star Class, Happy Half Hour, Romance, Picnic and the Family package), arrive about 15 minutes before your start time.
Are there toilets in the cabins?
No. A rotation is about 30 minutes with no stops once boarding's done, so use the bathroom before you board.
Do you operate in the rain?
Yes. Cabins are fully enclosed and climate controlled, so we operate rain or shine.
What about wind?
We run in most conditions, but we don't operate in winds above 72 km/h or when there's lightning within 10 km.
Could the ride close?
We may close the wheel at any time for maintenance, weather or circumstances outside our control. If we can't run your session, we'll offer a new time that suits you, or a refund.
Is there a quiet or sensory-friendly time?
Yes. Quiet Hour runs every Wednesday from 10am to 11am, a calmer session for guests who prefer a quieter visit.
